William Simmons (B. Ed)

Mr. Simmons worked at The Deep Creek Middle School subsidiary of the Cape Eleuthera Island School and has a strong foundation in experiential, green and community-based approaches to education. Simmons has 5 years experience in the Bahamas public school system and intimate knowledge of the protocols and standards of the Ministry of Education. Mr. Simmons is also the recipient of the Bahamian Icon Award for youth and community development, one of the country’s most prestigious accolades to any professional in their field.

Alexandra Evered

We are pleased to welcome Ms. Alexandra (Allie) Evered to the Harbour Island Green School staff this coming school year. Ms. Evered hails from St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Elementary Education. She is currently working towards a Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Education, and prior to joining us here, she worked with a charter school in her hometown.
When she is not at school, Ms. Evered enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, reading, gardening, and baking. "I am extremely excited about the opportunity to be a part of this community and can’t wait to meet the students! "

Jonathan Kelly

Jonathan Kelly

Harbour Island native and a man of many talents, Harbour Island Green School is pleased to welcome Mr. Jonathan Kelly to our team this school year. Mr. Kelly will serve as our Special Programs Coordinator for the school and community center, and will work with the staff and students to develop cultural education and performing arts programs.
A certified EMT, Mr. Kelly enjoys music, art and photography in his free time and has a passion for developing a love of the arts in young people.

Jermaine Thompson

Jermaine Thompson

An alumnus of C.I. Gibson in Nassau, Jermaine Thompson has roots in Harbour Island and Gregory Town, and has served as the resident "Mr. Fix It" for the past five years on this site facilitating each transition through the years. Jermaine is excited to be a part of the Green School and looks forward to working with the new staff and students. Jermaine is an exceptionally hard worker, and enjoys encouraging young people by showing them the importance of a strong work ethic no matter the task.
In his free time, Jermaine enjoys sport fishing, gardening, and listening to music.
